Magazines & Newspapers

The McHenry Public Library subscribes to approximately 400 magazines and newspapers in the Adult and Young People Services areas combined. Search our Online Catalog to find an individual title. Choose "Advanced Search", then "Title” from the drop-down menu. Type the name of the periodical in the search field and choose "Magazine or Journal" from the Format menu. Click Search.

First Search    Search for full-text articles from magazines, medical journals, government publications, and other sources on a wide variety of subjects from 16 different databases. The Statewide Illinois Library Catalog, known as SILC, is accessible through First Search, as is Find-it Illinois, Ask ? Away and WorldCat(alog).

World News Digest   brings together and enhances nearly seven decades of news from the renowned Facts On File World News Digest in print. This archival record of domestic and international news is updated weekly and contains more than 1 million internal hyperlinks and convenient new features such as tabbed search results. It covers all major political, social, and economic events since November 1940.
